Eyebrow lift Botox in Mirdif, Dubai does not lift anything, and understanding that is the difference between being pleased and being disappointed. It works by releasing the muscles that pull your brow down, so the one muscle that pulls it up wins by a little more than it did. The change is real, and it amounts to millimetres. Dr. Sarah Magdy assesses whether your brow will respond at all before proposing it, because a good number of brows will not.

Nothing Gets Lifted

Your brow position is the outcome of a contest. A broad sheet across your forehead pulls the brows up. A group between the brows pulls them down and together, and fibres at the outer corner of the eye drag the brow tail downward.

Relax the ones pulling down and the sheet above carries on working unopposed, so the brow settles a little higher. Nobody hoisted anything and no tissue moved. An opponent simply stopped pulling.

That mechanism sets the ceiling. You cannot get more lift than your own forehead muscle is capable of producing, and if that muscle is weak, releasing its opponents achieves very little. Our face Botox page maps the whole system of opposing pairs.

Two Different Lifts, and Most People Want the Second

The muscles pulling your brow down sit in two places, so releasing them produces two different results.

A medial lift comes from treating the group between the brows. The inner ends of the brows rise slightly and the space between them opens, which softens a stern or worried resting expression. Our frown lines page covers those muscles in detail.

A lateral lift comes from treating the outer fibres of the muscle ringing the eye. The brow tail rises, the outer eye opens a little, and the effect reads as more awake. This is the one most people picture when they ask about a brow lift.

They are different requests and they need different plans. Say which you want, because a practitioner cannot infer it from “I’d like my brows lifted”.

How Much Lift Is Realistic

Millimetres. Not the result of a surgical brow lift, and not what a filtered photograph shows.

What that amount of change actually does is subtle and worth having: the eye area looks a little more open, a heavy resting expression eases, and people register that you look rested without identifying why. What it does not do is correct a substantially descended brow or open a genuinely hooded eye.

Anybody promising you a dramatic lift from an injection is describing an operation.

Is It Your Brow or Your Eyelid?

This is the most useful question on the page, and patients almost never arrive with the answer.

People book about hooded eyes. Sometimes the eyelid skin itself has become excessive, and sometimes the eyelid is entirely normal while the brow above it has descended and is pressing down on it. The two look similar in a mirror and need completely different treatment.

Try this. Place a fingertip just above the outer end of your eyebrow and lift the brow gently upward, without touching the lid. If the hooding largely resolves, your brow is a significant part of the problem and releasing its depressors may help. If the fold of skin over your lid stays put, the skin itself is the issue, and no injection addresses that.

Most people find a mixture. Dr. Sarah Magdy assesses both, and where excess lid skin dominates she will refer you for a surgical opinion rather than treating around it. Our non-surgical contouring page explains where that line falls generally.

Who Gets Little or Nothing

  • Anyone whose forehead muscle is weak, since there is nothing to work unopposed
  • Brows that sit low naturally rather than having descended
  • Significant excess skin on the upper lid
  • Anyone carrying a heavy recent forehead treatment, since the lifting muscle is already working at reduced strength
  • Heavy brow bone anatomy, which sets a position no muscle change alters

Hearing that you fall into one of these is useful information rather than a rejection. It saves you paying for a change you would never notice.

The Paradox Worth Understanding

Botulinum toxin can raise your brow or lower it, and which one happens depends entirely on where it goes.

Treat the forehead sheet and the brow drops, because you have weakened the only muscle holding it up. Our forehead page covers that. Treat the depressors between and beside the brows and the brow rises, for the opposite reason.

Which is why a plan aimed at brow position and a plan aimed at forehead lines can pull against each other, and why treating both areas needs the proportions thought through rather than each treated on its own terms.

How This Compares With the Alternatives

A surgical brow lift repositions tissue and produces a change of a different order entirely, with an operation and recovery attached. Thread-based approaches sit somewhere between. Volume in the temple supports the brow tail rather than lifting it, and our temple page explains that distinction.

The injectable version is the least invasive, the least dramatic, the most reversible in the sense that it simply wears off, and the only one you can try before committing to anything lasting. For many people that combination is exactly right. For a brow that has genuinely descended, it is not enough.

What to Expect

Nothing on the day. The change arrives over a fortnight, and a photograph shows it far better than a mirror does, because a few millimetres registers poorly when you are staring at yourself. Compare a photo taken before treatment with one at two weeks, in the same light.

Our treatment page covers preparation and the review appointment, and our natural-looking Botox page covers the over-arched brow that comes from treating too narrow an area.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Botox actually lift the eyebrow?

Not by lifting. It relaxes the muscles pulling your brow down, so the muscle pulling it up works unopposed and the brow settles slightly higher. Nothing moves tissue, and your own forehead muscle sets the ceiling.

How much higher will my brow sit?

Millimetres. That is enough to make the eye area look more open and a heavy resting expression ease, and it is nothing like a surgical result. Anybody promising a dramatic change from an injection is describing an operation.

Can it lift the inner brow or the outer brow?

Both, by treating different muscles. Releasing the group between the brows raises the inner ends and opens the space between them. Releasing the outer fibres beside the eye raises the brow tail, which is the effect most people actually picture. Say which you want.

My eyes look hooded. Will this help?

It depends whether the hooding comes from your brow or your eyelid skin. Lift the outer end of your eyebrow gently with a fingertip: if the hooding largely resolves, the brow is contributing and treatment may help. If the fold over your lid stays, the skin is the issue and no injection addresses it.

Why did my brow drop after treatment instead?

Because somebody treated the forehead rather than the depressors. The forehead sheet is the only muscle holding your brows up, so weakening it lowers them. Brow position depends entirely on which side of that contest gets treated.

Who does not get a result from this?

People with a weak forehead muscle, brows that sit low naturally rather than having descended, significant excess skin on the upper lid, anyone currently treated heavily across the forehead, and heavy brow bone anatomy. Hearing that saves you paying for a change you would not see.

How does it compare with a surgical brow lift?

They are different orders of change. Surgery repositions tissue, with an operation and recovery attached. The injectable version is subtle, wears off, and lets you see whether you like a slightly higher brow before considering anything lasting.

How should I judge the result?

Compare a photograph at two weeks against one taken beforehand, in the same light. A few millimetres registers poorly in a mirror, and people often conclude nothing happened when a photograph shows otherwise.

What should I ask for when I book?

Ring 04 268 8226 any day between 11:00 AM and 8:00 PM, or message +971 56 598 6039 on WhatsApp. Say whether you want the inner brow, the brow tail, or simply a more open eye area, since those are three different plans.
